Reuben Peters wins European Poker Tour Dublin Event
The stock trader from Telluride, Colorodo, won a PokerStars satellite to qualify for this event and although he began the final table holding one of the shortest chip stacks, he managed to outlast seven other players to reach heads up play against the table favorite, 19-year-old pro Annette Obrestad. Peters was a big underdog when heads-up began but managed to even the counts after a double-up and a series of small pots. The tournament ended after Peters moved all-in with top pair, top kicker on a 10-6-3 board and was called by Obrestad, who held 7-7. Peters' pair of tens held up, giving him the first place prize and the EPT title. Obrestad received €297,800 (approx. USD 432,000) for her second place finish.
